Union Minister to embark on a 3 day visit to Singapore . Union minister of education, skill development, and entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan will begin a three-day trip to Singapore to strengthen existing ties and think about ways to broaden education and skill development cooperation. During his time in Singapore, Pradhan will have meetings with a number of important members of the government, such as Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, and Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing.
Pradhan will also visit Singapore Spectra Secondary School, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Institute of Technical Education and Educational Services (ITEES), and Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) among other educational establishments. He will also communicate with Skills Future Singapore (SSG), the Singapore government's central body that oversees the implementation of the SkillsFuture Movement.
During his visit, Dharmendra Pradhan will meet with members of the Indian Diaspora and the Odia Association. The Minister will also meet with IIT and IIM alumni in Singapore. India and Singapore have worked together on skill development for a long time. One of the Education Working Group's top priorities from the G20 Presidency is to encourage lifelong learning and the future of work. A joint workshop with the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Education of Singapore was held with the title "Future of Work: “Skill Architecture and Governance Models of India and Singapore” was held in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, on April 25, 2023, concurrently with the Education Working Group's third meeting. The conversations had at the occasion would help make a guide for future expertise cooperation among Singapore and India.
